Villa LUZO
We use a room in the shared Villa Luzo, you can also rent the Villa completely when booking for 6 people. The Villa is equipped with hot water shower, air conditioning, fast internet, 3 meals a day family style, unlimited water, coffee and tea.
CULTURAL LIVING
You can also choose to stay at a home stay, this accommodations are owned by local Papuan families, who have houses on the beach or on the water. Enjoy the hospitality of a local family and share in their daily customs and living environment.
In Raja Ampat they call these holiday houses “home stays” not because you share their house but because the local family takes care of you. On the majority of the islands these are the only accommodation available.
Not all home stays are equally good and not always as you see in the photos, we have selected and personally checked the best accommodations in the region.
Most home stays have the same simple construction style and have a shared bathroom and toilet, often a mattress on the floor and sometimes a bed with a mosquito net. Most accommodations we choose have a bed and some of those have their own bathroom.
Electricity is usually only available in the evening and there is no WiFi, but there is 4G internet signal in most places.
At your accommodation you get 3 simple meals a day with local flavors, often fish, a little vegetables and rice, some accommodation have cake and fried banana in the morning. There is unlimited drinking water, tea and often instant coffee. Vegan and vegetarian meals can be provided on request,
Even if a Papuan family does not have experience in the hospitality industry, hospitality and friendliness is in their nature and a stay here will be a unique experience.
