The word 'manta' is actually Spanish for 'blanket' or 'cloak'. It's almost like a flying carpet when it leap out of the water.
Manta rays have the largest brain to body weight ratio of any living fish.
That is not the only thing that is big, the animal itself is also big.
A reef manta can grow up to 4,5 meters and weight up to 1.5 tonnes.
A fully grown oceanic manta ray can reach a wing span of up to 7 meters and weigh up to two tonnes.
Did you now that's as much as a white rhino! Never seen a rhino leaping to 2 meters in to the air.
Manta Season
You can find the Manta at Manta Sandy or Manta point close to Aborek or Fam islands and other places.
Although the season is from October to May, the best chance to see the Manta is November till April.
